Search for the best Gold Coast car rental deals with no booking fees and
pay only when you take the car
There are three main areas of the Gold Coast to hire a car. The airport at Coolangatta, at Surfers Paradise and just across the NSW border at Tweed Heads. First port of call should be the airport if you are flying in from interstate.
Avis, Thrifty, Budget, Hertz, Europcar and Red Spot are all represented with an array of vehicles at differing prices, often depending on the season. The Gold Coast has a great range of private independent car hire companies, many based near the airport.
Red Rock Rentals, A1, Economy Car Hire and locally owned Star Rent a Car all offer deals with cars ranging from small hatchbacks to large sedans.
Many of the large multi-nationals are also represented at Surfers Paradise, just north from the airport, but check out some local companies like Sun Coast Rentals, Surfers Rent a Car and Cut Price Rentals. You might strike lucky and get a great deal. Many of these operators also do an airport pick-up - just ask and vehicles range from small hatchbacks to RV’s and 4WDs.
If you are looking for something special, and money isn’t a problem, try a Ferarri from Rent a Dream Car or a chauffeured Limo from ABC limousines.
South of the airport, Tweed Heads offers all the national companies - Avis, Budget and Red Spot, but also has a number of well established local hire car firms worth checking out.
The Gold Coast offers many campervan rental options, Red Back, Thrifty, AA Adventure and Backpacker to name just a few.
Prices can vary so shop around for your Gold Coast car rental, and while they usually cover full comprehensive insurance it’s always good to check what is covered, including roadside breakdown assistance.
Be sure to have a valid drivers’ licence and a credit card for payment - and all hirers must be over 21 years of age.
