twin towns of Coolangata
and Tweed Heads
mark the southern
end of the Gold
Coast. Coolangata
is more family
orientated and
relaxed than other
parts of the Gold
Coast and there is lots of Coolangatta accommodation to choose from. North facing
beaches Rainbow
Bay and Greenmount
are popular with
families and you
can walk between
the two of them. Coolangatta is
home to some of
the area's prettiest
beaches. Located
at the mouth of
the Tweed River,
just a 30 minute
drive from Murwillumbah
and Lamington National Parks. Currumbin,
Tugun and Bilinga
are also situated
at the southern
end of the Gold
Coast.
